Monthly inventory storage fees for standard-size and oversize items will change for storage in October, November, and December.

Fees for October will be reduced, and fees for November and December will increase. This change will first be reflected in the November 2016 charges for October 2016 storage.

Refer to the table below for more information.

Effective November 1

Monthly inventory storage fees for standard-size and oversize items will change for storage in October, November, and December.

Fees for October will be reduced, and fees for November and December will increase. This change will first be reflected in the November 2016 charges for October 2016 storage.

Refer to the table below for more information.

Effective November 1, 2016, we will reduce weight handling fees for all items shipped in November and December. These reduced fees are designed to offset the increase in monthly storage fees for sellers who reduce or sell through inventory.

Weight handling fees return to the amounts listed in the Prior to November 1, 2016 columns beginning January 1, 2017.

Although standard-size products are often smaller than oversize products, they require more complex and costly shelving, drawers, and bins for storage. Fees are charged by cubic foot, however, which means that standard-size products overall storage fee may be less than that of oversize products, based on volume

Effective November 1, 2016, Amazon will require sellers to provide box content information for each box sent to a fulfillment center. This will ensure that inbound shipments are received quickly and accurately. In September 2016, we will provide additional tools to make it easier to provide box content information about all shipments.

If your shipping processes do not support providing this information, you can pay a service fee to have Amazon determine your box contents at the fulfillment center. The service fee will be $0.10 per unit from January to October and $0.15 per unit from November to December.

For more information, see Provide box content information (sign-in required).

Skip labeling your new FBA inventory and save

Last published: November 10, 2016

Did you know you can use the existing manufacturer barcodes (including GCID, UPC, EAN, JAN, or ISBN) on your eligible products to identify and track your inventory throughout the Amazon fulfillment process? This means you no longer have to label your individual items, saving you both time and money.

For shipments received between October 3rd and December 31st, you can save $0.08 on Pick & Pack fees for every item you currently label or new items that you add to FBA and send to Amazon fulfillment centers that are tracked using the manufacturer barcode. This credit will appear in your Payments report in January 2017.

For more information on eligibility requirements and how to use the manufacturer barcode to track your inventory, see the Use the manufacturer barcode and save on Pick & Pack fees (sign-in required) help page.

If you choose not to provide this information, Amazon will need to process your box contents manually for a fee of $0.15 per unit in November and December. The fee will be $0.10 per unit for January through October. If you provide box content information, you will not be charged this fee.

For more information on how to provide box content information, watch our training video or learn more on Seller Central (sign-in required).
